The letter was not sent to Santa Claus but to the President of the Republic. Two children from the Loire department, whose parents work in the Casino group, challenge Emmanuel Macron, in a letter written jointly from their children’s point of view, France Bleu Saint-Etienne Loire has learned.

Their names are Amine and Yasmine, they are 8 years old and, since the announcement of the takeover of 320 stores by Intermarché, the subject often comes up on the table. They said to themselves that they could put words to this situation. The letter was sent to the Loire deputy Quentin Bataillon who forwarded it “directly” to Emmanuel Macron on December 18 when he went to Paris for negotiations with Bercy.

“Let’s hope that the letter has the same effect as for Santa”

Abida, Amine’s mother has worked for the group for 24 years: “He heard me discussing with my colleagues on the telephone the fact that my colleagues would perhaps be received by Bruno Lemaire and therefore my son also wanted to meet the President of the Republic to tell him that he is extremely sad to what happens.” But it’s not easy to meet the president in person. So Abida advised him to write a letter with the daughter of a work colleague: “The two of them wrote several things over the course of a week. They crossed out, started again, etc. And it’s really a letter that was written by two 8-year-old children in their own words.”

Plus it’s Christmas and Abida assures that Amine has been good this year: “For him, it is the president who will save Casino. Let us hope that the letter to the President of the Republic has the same effect as for Santa Claus.” It’s therefore a new Christmas mission, this one for Emmanuel Macron and Amine’s objective is precise: “We must save parents’ work.”

According to MP Quentin Bataillon, the President of the Republic “was able to check the mail” And “the approach touched him.”
