two candidates filmed topless, the TF1 scandal takes a new turn

The countdown has begun before the election of Miss France 2024, which will be held in Dijon on December 16, 2023. And as tradition dictates, the competition, which is regularly attacked by feminists, does not escape a few scandals… This is how this December 13, 2023, we learned in the columns of Le Parisien that TF1 has just been condemned in court.

“A camera in the locker room

The channel will have to pay 20,000 euros each to Carla Bonesso, Miss Aquitaine 2018, and Manon Jean-Mistral, Miss Corsica 2018, for having filmed them topless, during the Miss France 2019 show, which was held in Lille, on December 15, 2018, and from which Vaimalama Chaves emerged victorious.

At the time, “the production had indeed installed a camera in the dressing room, in order to bring the show to life from behind the scenes, as close as possible to the Misses”, as our colleagues remind us. Unfortunately, a “technical error”had exposed his two young wives… Serious harm, reports Violaine de Filippis, one of their lawyers, who criticizes Le Parisien: “Even today, these images remain available on pornographic sites and we cannot get them deleted”.

“Filmed ‘naked’, without their knowledge”

And the apologies of Sylvie Tellier, at the time boss of the Miss, on the 1 p.m. news, who had ensured “This shouldn’t have happened. It was a big mistake on our part and it ruined this show a bit“were not enough… At the Lille court, the judge ruled that the camera had been installed in the young women’s changing rooms “without their being informed, and that the latter, who were changing between two paintings on stage and two dresses, were filmed ‘naked’, without their knowledge”.

In fact, and because Production and TF1 Production have not taken any measures to put an end to the broadcast of the images, the bill is now steep…
