“Two Canadair can be positioned in Gironde, 48 hours before a risk, estimated by Météo France”, to fight fires in the Southwest announced Tuesday, April 11 Gérald Darmanin during a trip to the Cazaux air base in Gironde. To fight fires in France, “The arrival of the eighth Dash in June will complete the fleet of water bombers. A ninth Dash is being leased to be operational this summer”. Also this year, “four Air Tractor-type water bombers will be leased from July 1”. “Up to ten water bomber helicopters will be rented at the heart of the season, two of which will join the national fleet from the beginning of June and four can be used until the end of September. (…) Un second Beech will be equipped with an optronic ball, allowing a precise and live analysis of a fire to help in the operational decision “.
