Two construction magnate brothers from Pennsylvania, USA, perished in an avalanche in British Columbia earlier this week.
Jonathan and Tomothy Kinsley, 59 and 57 respectively, were buried Monday in mounds of snow near the Revelstoke ski resort in western Canada.
The two victims were executives of Kinsley Enterprises, a York-based company, the “New York Post” reported on Thursday, which highlighted the philanthropic side of the two entrepreneurial brothers.
The two Americans were airlifted to a hospital where they were found dead, while their Canadian guide was in stable condition, it was said.
“The family is assimilating the heartbreaking news and asks that their privacy be respected,” said the Kinsley family, quoted by the New York tabloid.
Avalanches have become a regular occurrence in British Columbia and often claim casualties among ski enthusiasts.
