Twins win 6-2 against Astros to tie series

(Houston) Carlos Correa had three hits and Pablo López pitched seven scoreless innings, and the Minnesota Twins beat the Houston Astros, 6-2, in Game 2 of their League Division Series American.


The third game of the series will be played Tuesday in Minnesota. The series is now tied 1-1.

Correa hit a double that produced a run for his team in the first inning. He added a two-run single in the fifth inning, making it 5-0 for his team.

In four playoff games this year, Correa had four hits and drove in four runs, in four playoff games.

He calmed the threat of the Senators, with his fastball averaging 95.9 miles per hour.

Yordan Alvarez reduced the gap to 6-2 in the eighth inning.

Willi Castro singled from the start for the Twins, while Kyle Farmer then hit a home run to left field against pitcher Framber Valdez. It was Farmer’s first home run in the playoffs, having gone 0 for 10 in eight preseason games.
