Twenty-one people died in a night bar, the cause remains mysterious

A tragedy still unexplained. The bodies of 17 young people, who died without apparent injuries, were discovered on Sunday June 26 in a night bar in a township in East London, South Africa, local police announced. Four other young people who were in this establishment died in hospital. “We continue to investigate the circumstances of these deaths”told AFP a spokesperson for the provincial police, which is investigating the cause of these deaths.

“It’s a terrible scene to watch”said National Police Minister Bheki Cele, who visited the morgue. “They are quite young. When you are told they are 13, 14 and you go there (to the morgue) and see them… It breaks”.

Thirteen boys and eight girls were among the victims who were believed to be students celebrating the end of exams and the school year, a statement said.n head of provincial health services.
