Twenty-eight years after the broadcast of an episode which featured a collaboration between the American group and the British symphony orchestra, this duo will share the stage on Wednesday July 10 to reinvent the hits from the cult album of 1993, “Black Sunday”.
In the episode “Homerpalooza”, First broadcast in 1996 on American television, the members of Cypress Hill realize that they have accidentally organized a concert with the musicians of the London Symphony Orchestra while under the influence of cannabis.
For years, fans have been begging the rappers and the London band to make the collaboration a reality, and they have repeatedly teased the possibility on social media. “Let’s do this @londonsymphony”, finally offered the iconic rap group “West Coast” on X five years ago in July 2019.
Based in Los Angeles, the band has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. The musicians of the British orchestra worked on unique arrangements of the hits “Insane In The Brain” Or “I Wanna Get High.” We’ve been talking about it for many years, ever since the first episode of Simpson“, revealed the group’s leader, B-Real, in an interview broadcast on Wednesday by the BBC.
“So this is a very special moment for us. We’ve played many historic venues throughout our career… but nothing as prestigious as this,” he added. “Thanks to the Simpsonbecause without this episode, we probably would never have done this!”
This is not the first time that the cult American TV series has predicted, or influenced, reality. A famous episode from March 2000 featured Donald Trump as President of the United States, more than 15 years before his real election.
