Dog Characters
No need to have a dog to enjoy this documentary. Narrated by actor Rob Lowe (in English version), Inside the Mind of a Dog contains a ton of interesting information about “man’s best friend.” For 75 minutes, we decipher what they think, explain their behaviors, and finally, reveal whether they really “love” us. All this, through expert testimonies and scientific studies. Other relevant random information: in 2022, the French bulldog dethroned the Labrador as the most popular dog breed in the United States, and until the 20th centurye century, working dogs were mainly bred. Since then, a new criterion has emerged: appearance.

The novelty
Invisible evil
This documentary series of four 30-minute episodes gives voice to four people who suffer from chronic pain, that is, who experience daily pain that handicaps their existence. Nested, as a subject? Not at all. The trailer tells us as an opening: according to estimates, 20% of the public experiences chronic pain. “I’m 23, and I can’t put on my stockings,” says a young woman in the show, which aims to demystify this condition and detail possible treatments. Directed by Jean-Marc Abela (Hotel Beirut, Working differently) produced in collaboration with the University of Quebec.
Media knowledge, starting this Monday at 8 p.m.
The roll of the dice
Jackpot!
It’s the number one movie in Canada on Prime Video since its release last week. Starring an odd duo, wrestler John Cena and comedian Awkwafina, this action comedy from filmmaker Paul Feig (A Simple Favor, Last Christmas) takes us to 2030 in California, where a barbaric lottery has just been invented: on the day of the drawing, holders of a losing ticket can assassinate the winner to claim their multi-billion dollar prize, but without using firearms. The story revolves around a winner protection agent who will do whatever it takes to protect a former child star who accidentally found herself in possession of the winning ticket.
