Brayden Point had two goals and an assist on Tuesday to help the Tampa Bay Lightning win 4-0 over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Tampa Bay had lost four straight, being outscored 17-7 on goals.
Andrei Vasilevskiy made 29 saves including 12 in the third period, en route to his third shutout of the season.
Steven Stamkos added a goal and an assist for the Lighting, which was wrapping up a four-game road trip.
Alex Killorn completed the scoring in an empty net.
Nikita Kucherov got a 75e passes, he who is second in the league in this regard.
Pyotr Kochetkov blocked 17 shots for Carolina, which has been beaten three times in four games.
The Hurricanes were shut out for the third time in their last 10 games.

Markstrom makes 33 saves as Flames win 2-1 over Kings

Jacob Markstrom made 33 saves to help the Calgary Flames win 2-1 against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday.
All the goals were scored in the first period, including Walker Duehr’s sixth at 17:59, which broke the tie at 1-1.
Andrew Mangiapane of the Flames scored in the second minute of play, during a power play.
Sean Durzi created the deadlock midway through the engagement for the Kings, who had won three straight (thanks to 19 goals scored and only nine allowed).
Calgary started the night four points behind the Winnipeg Jets in the hunt for the final playoff spot in the West.
The Flames will play in Winnipeg on April 5.
Los Angeles is in second place in the Pacific section.
Joonas Korpisalo stopped 30 shots. It was his first loss in a Kings uniform in six starts.
The Kings will visit the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night.
The Flames will be in Vancouver the next day.

Jakub Vrana scored twice 28 seconds into overtime on Tuesday to give the St. Louis Blues a 6-5 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Pavel Buchnevich, Alexey Toropchenko, Justin Faulk and Robert Thomas scored the other goals for the Blues, whose seven-game record is 5-1-1.
Andrei Kuzmenko and Quinn Hughes scored twice for the Canucks, who were looking for a fourth straight win.
Brock Boeser had a goal and two assists.
Winning goaltender Jordan Binnington made 32 saves, seven more than Thatcher Demko.
The Canucks will host the Calgary Flames on Friday night.

The Stars take advantage of four goals from four different players and win 4-1

Tyler Seguin, Colin Miller, Joe Pavelski and Luke Glendening hit the mark to help the Dallas Stars beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 on Tuesday.
The Stars climbed to second in the Central Division with 94 points, the same number as the Colorado Avalanche. The Minnesota Wild leads the division with 95 points.
Tyler Johnson deprived Jake Oettinger of a fifth shutout by taking advantage of a comeback to score midway through the third period. Oettinger made 17 saves.
Oettinger was rarely tested as the Stars dominated the game against the Blackhawks, who suffered a sixth straight loss.
The Blackhawks looked so bad that fans gathered at the United Center eventually started cheering after every shot on goal.
Alex Stalock stopped 26 shots before being ejected from the game with 3:37 to go. Petr Mrazek had to finish the game in net for the Blackhawks.

David Perron scored three goals in the third period on Tuesday to guide the Detroit Red Wings to a 7-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Perron scored first with a wrist shot early in the period. After making it 5-4 on the power play, he added a 19e goal this season at 17:05.
Perron scored his ninth career hat trick.
Detroit led 3-0 at the first intermission (Jonatan Berggren, Andrew Copp and Dominik Kobalik). Berggren ended an 11-game drought.
Jason Zucker, Jake Guentzel and Jeff Carter replied in the middle period, but Perron took matters into his own hands in the third period.
Dylan Larkin scored in an empty net.
Alex Nedeljkovic made 35 saves, he who was playing a 100e meeting in the NHL.
Josh Archibald was the other scorer for the Penguins, who have the last available playoff spot in the East.
The club will begin a three-game stay at home on Thursday against Nashville.

Juuse Saros makes 35 saves as Predators beat Bruins 2-1

Juuse Saros stopped 35 shots, Cody Glass scored late in the second period and the Nashville Predators ended the Boston Bruins’ seven-game winning streak by beating them 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Looking to get back into the Western Conference playoff picture, the Predators won only the third time in eight games. Jérémy Lauzon added an important goal in an empty net late in the third period.
The Bruins had tied a team record set in the 1970-71 campaign with a 57e victory on Sunday. They are still five wins shy of the NHL record with eight games remaining on the regular schedule.
The Detroit Red Wings won 62 games in 1995-96, then the Tampa Bay Lightning tied that mark in 2018-19.
David Pastrnak scored for the Bruins with less than a second left in the game. This was his 52e goal of the season.
Linus Ullmark stopped 21 shots in goal for the Bruins, who suffered just their fourth loss in regulation at home this season (30-4-3).

A third straight victory for the Rangers, 6-2 against the Blue Jackets

Mika Zibanejad shot a 38e goal on Tuesday as the New York Rangers prevailed 6-2 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Also an accomplice to Artemi Panarin’s goal, Zibanejad has 13 points in his last eight games.
Filip Chytil, Vladimir Tarasenko and Patrick Kane scored in the first eight minutes of the game.
Vincent Trocheck also hit home for the New Yorkers, who have lost only once in their last eight meetings.
Alexis Lafrenière provided two assists and Igor Shesterkin made 28 saves.
In the Metropolitan section, the Rangers are only two points behind the Devils. They will also face them Thursday, in New Jersey.
Panarin leads Rangers with 84 points, including 25 goals.
The Columbus line came from Kirill Marchenko and Johnny Gaudreau.
