Flyers win 3-1 over Jets

James van Riemsdyk scored the game-changing goal with 4:09 remaining in the third period as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 on Tuesday.

The Flyers have secured a second straight victory – after suffering 13 straight losses.

Oskar Lindblom and Travis Konecny ​​also hit the mark for the Flyers. Carter Hart stopped 32 shots.

Kyle Connor gave the Jets the lead by scoring 48 seconds into the game. He leads the Jets in goals this season with 25.

Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves.

Pastrnak scores twice in Bruins win over Kraken

David Pastrnak had two goals, including the tiebreaker midway through the third period on Tuesday as the Boston Bruins won 3-2 against the Seattle Kraken.

Taylor Hall was the other scorer for the winners, while Linus Ullmark made 25 saves.

Joonas Donskoi and Mason Appleton fought back for Seattle, whose last two losses have come by one goal. Chris Driedger blocked 23 shots.

Pastrnak has scored 14 times in 16 games in 2022.

For Tuukka Rask, the break from the stars will give him some respite from a lower-body injury related to his hip surgery.

Rask hasn’t played since Jan. 24. His record is 2-2, his average 4.28.

Hedman gives the Lightning the victory in overtime

Victor Hedman scored at 2:45 in overtime and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Tuesday.

Anthony Cirelli and Alex Killorn also scored for the Lightning.

Andrei Vasilevskiy blocked 19 shots in the win.

Rudolfs Balcers and Logan Couture scored for the Sharks.

Couture hadn’t hit the target in his previous eight games. He leveled the score 2-2 at the start of the third period, on the power play.

James Reimer stopped 29 of 32 shots in the Sharks’ cage.

Hit by a puck Saturday at Sunrise, Mario Ferraro of the Sharks was back after a one-game absence.

He lost a tooth, two more had to be corrected and the top of his mouth also needed attention, spending two and a half hours at the dentist.

Marner scores twice as Maple Leafs crush Devils

The visitors led 4-0 at the first intermission, thanks in particular to two goals in 26 seconds.

Jack Campbell made 31 saves, yielding only to Jack Hughes.

Following the All-Star Game, Toronto will resume action Monday at home against Carolina.

The Devils have slipped their last six meetings. They will play again next Monday in Ottawa.

Orlov gives Capitals victory over Penguins

Dmitry Orlov completed a brace at 4:17 in overtime as the Washington Capitals beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 on Tuesday.

Nic Dowd and Daniel Sprong also scored for the Capitals.

Dowd scored shorthanded.

Ilya Samsonov put his shoulder to the wheel with 43 saves.

The Caps were short a net man with every goal conceded.

Vitek Vanecek started the game but had to leave in the first period, following a collision with Kasperi Kapanen.

Samsonov frustrated Sidney Crosby on a breakaway in overtime.

Crosby still has 498 career goals.

For the Penguins, Bryan Rust had two goals, the other going to Evgeni Malkin. The latter collected at least one point in a ninth straight game.

Jake Guentzel had three assists, one more than Crosby. Tristan Jarry made 28 saves.

The Penguins are going through their worst streak of the season, having lost four in a row.

The Capitals will host Edmonton on Wednesday.

Beauvillier goal leads Islanders to win over Senators

Anthony Beauvillier and Adam Pelech hit the mark in the Islanders’ first win in three games.

Ilya Sorokin stopped 26 of 27 shots to claim the victory.

Anton Forsberg made 26 saves for the Senators, who have lost two of their last three games.

Nick Holden was the Senators’ lone scorer.

Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock returned after missing 25 games with a lower-body injury.
