Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby scored doubles in the third period on Tuesday, guiding the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 6-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils.

The Devils led 3-1 after two periods, following goals from Timo Meier, Curtis Lazar and Jesper Bratt.

Crosby and Malkin first scored 67 seconds apart, early in the third period.

Rickard Rakell added the key goal at 16:16 and Malkin completed a double 21 seconds later.

Crosby then amassed a 39e goal this season, scoring into an empty net. With 1586 points, he is four points away from joining Phil Esposito in 10e rank of history.

Erik Karlsson was the first scorer for the winners.

Ullmark blocks 32 shots and shuts out the Predators

Linus Ullmark stopped 32 shots and had an assist on Charlie Coyle’s game-winning shorthanded goal, and the Boston Bruins defeated the Nashville Predators 3-0 on Tuesday.

David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha each had a goal and an assist for the Bruins, who have won three of their last four games.

Juuse Saros blocked 30 pucks for the Predators, who have lost their last three games.

It was Ullmark’s second shutout this season and eighth career shutout.

Coyle scored the winning goal with 6:42 remaining in regulation.

The Predators only took three shots in four power plays in the game.

Zacha doubled the Bruins’ lead with 2:42 to play and Pastrnak completed the scoring with his 46e net of the countryside.

Sabers beat Capitals 6-2

JJ Peterka (77) scored twice.

JJ Peterka scored two goals, including the game-winner, and the Buffalo Sabers defeated the Washington Capitals 6-2 on Tuesday night.

Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch and Rasmus Dahlin all had a goal and two assists.

Zemgus Girgensons also scored for the Sabres, who scored three goals in 2:30 intervals early in the third period.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 23 saves after giving in on the first shot he received, that of Martin Fehervary.

Dylan Strome also found the back of the net for the Capitals, who have lost their last three games.

Charlie Lindgren gave way to Darcy Kuemper after allowing six goals on 31 shots. Kuemper stopped four shots.

Peterka scored his 28e goal of the season, a team high, halfway through the second period.

Dahlin restored a two-goal priority to his team at the start of the third period, on the power play.

Thompson and Tuch then scored on two two-shot goals to chase Lindgren from the game.

Sabers forward Jeff Skinner played his 1000e career game in the NHL.

Killorn scores two goals and helps the Ducks defeat the Flames

Alex Killorn scored two goals, including the game-winner, and the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Calgary Flames 5-3 on Tuesday night.

Troy Terry, with a goal and two assists, Mason McTavish and Cam Fowler also found the back of the net in the victory. Rookie defenseman Olen Zellweger collected three assists to achieve his first multi-point game.

The Ducks won only their second game in 14 outings (2-11-1).

Lukas Dostal blocked 21 pucks for the Ducks.

Andrei Kuzmenko, with two goals, and Yegor Sharangovich scored for the Flames, who have lost six of their last seven games.

Jacob Markstrom stopped 24 shots.

Fowler gave the Ducks the lead early in the third period when he scored his first goal in 22 games, and his fifth of the campaign.

Terry is the eighth player in Ducks history to have three straight seasons of at least 20 goals. He is the first to do so since Rickard Rakell, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.

The Islanders have the upper hand 2-1 over the Blackhawks

The Islanders obtained their third victory in four games.

Bo Horvat and Simon Holmstrom scored in the third period on Tuesday, leading the New York Islanders to a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Ilya Sorokin made 18 saves for the Islanders, now just one point out of the bottom playoff spot in the East.

The Islanders obtained their third victory in four games. They will play their next meeting on Thursday in Columbus.

Jason Dickinson fought back for the Hawks, who had won three of their last four outings.

Connor Bedard had an assist and Petr Mrazek blocked 27 shots.

The Wild wins 3-2 against the Senators

Vinni Lettieri scored the game-winning goal with just under seven minutes remaining in the third period and the Minnesota Wild defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Mason Shaw hit the target for the first time in more than a year, Matthew Boldy also scored and Quebecer Marc-André Fleury stopped 30 shots for the Wild.

Drake Batherson and Jakob Chychrun had a goal and an assist, while Joonas Korpisalo made 17 saves.

The Senators had won five games in a row.

The Senators scored their two goals on the power play. The team was losing 2-0, before scoring two goals in a row with a man advantage to tie the score.

Tim Stützle, accomplice of his team’s second goal, became the first player in Senators history to achieve two seasons of at least 70 points before the age of 23. The striker has 18 goals and 52 assists this season.

Shaw opened the scoring for the Wild midway through the first period.
