Tom Wilson scored 26 seconds into overtime and the Washington Capitals beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 on Tuesday.
The Capitals won in overtime for the first time this season, in eight occasions.
Pierre-Luc Dubois of the Jets had tied the game at 18:55 in the third period, thanks to his 16th goal of the campaign.
Alexander Ovechkin signed a 27and goal, he who leads the league at this level. Ovechkin scored late in the first period after a long pass from Garnet Hathaway.

Vitek Vanecek quickly allowed two goals, before finishing the game with 30 saves. Kyle Connor and Cole Perfetti scored at 1:02 and 2:20 in the first period.
Connor Hellebuyck has blocked 27 shots for the Jets, who have lost four of their last five games. Dmitry Orlov and Aliaksei Protas had Washington’s other goals.
Both clubs will be in action again on Thursday: the Jets in Nashville and the Capitals in Boston.
