Federal prosecutors have informed Donald Trump’s lawyers that the former president was personally targeted in the investigation into the management of the White House archives, according to several American media including CNN and the New York Times.
This new step, which opens the way to a possible indictment of the former American president, is an additional legal thorn for Mr. Trump, who hopes to win a new mandate in 2024. He is accused of having kept whole boxes of documents, including some classified as “secret-defense”, after he left Washington in 2021 and refused to return them, in violation of federal laws.
