Trump calls on supporters to crush Nikki Haley in South Carolina

Donald Trump on Friday called on his supporters to mobilize in force during the Republican primary in South Carolina on Saturday, hoping to crush his rival Nikki Haley in the state she has long led.

“Tomorrow, you will participate in one of the most important elections of your life,” the former president told his supporters during a campaign rally in this southeastern state.

Only two notable candidates are still in the running in the Republican primaries, which should determine the party’s candidate for the US presidential election in November. Donald Trump remains the overwhelming favorite against Nikki Haley, former governor of South Carolina.

This fifty-year-old urges conservatives to choose “a new generation of conservative leaders” rather than “four more years of Trump’s chaos.” But she has so far lost each of the primaries to Donald Trump – in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada.

Nikki Haley hopes to do better this Saturday than what the polls predict in South Carolina: they place her almost 30 points behind her opponent.

“She is going to have a very bad day tomorrow, because she is not a good person,” declared Donald Trump, predicting a “giant victory”.

Polling stations will open at 7 a.m. Saturday morning.

“We are going to win this state and then we are going to tell Joe Biden that he is fired,” he assured his supporters.

The winner of the Republican primaries, which can in theory last until the summer, will, barring any surprises, be opposed to Democratic President Joe Biden in the presidential election.
