Finding a retirement home as quickly as possible is the promise made by many platforms on the Internet, such as “cap retirement”. The operation of these sites is rather simple. In just a few clicks and entering the necessary information, you should obtain a selection that meets your needs. Is this really the case? The teams from the “true or false” cell decided to look for a residence located near the town of Senlis (Oise). Four establishments are proposed. However, there are at least three other establishments, more porches of Senlis. Why don’t they appear?

What about operation?

The residences offered by the site are all “partner” establishments, in other words they pay the platform and the amounts are sometimes very high. Asked about the operation of the site, an advisor ensures that the establishments that stand out are those “where there is space, availability”, partner or not. About the Ehpad closer, it indicates: “I don’t see any availability in these nursing homes.”
Without hearing from the advisor, the teams asked the establishments in question directly if they had any space left. “Yes, I currently have a room available. I have had a free space for a week”, confirms one of the directors of these nursing homes. This Ehpad did not pay for the platform and is not offered to Internet users. Associations representing representatives of the elderly denounce this type of practice. When contacted, the “Cap Retraite” organization defends itself from these accusations and affirms that it has not received any complaints about its practices.
