Parents said for their part that the teaching staff is troubled by the situation, in particular because of the fact that the director has been removed from his duties.

Reacting to this information, the Mille-Îles School Service Center reassured itself by stating that all teacher absences had been filled.

“We can assure you that the students are safe. Because of the context you will understand that this environment has been weakened. For the well-being of all, we want to find a climate conducive to learning, “said the organization.

The aggressive teacher was recorded by a father concerned about what was going on in the classroom.

Four complaints have been filed with the police against the teacher who was suspended with pay on Monday. Three complaints for assault and one for intimidation are under investigation by the Deux-Montagnes police.

Opposition spokesperson for Education Marwah Rizqy sent Education Minister Bernard Drainville documents proving that the school principal, Éric Campeau, the Service Center lawyer, and Human resources people were aware of what was going on in the Grade 1 classroom, namely assault and bullying since February.

“We must also suspend the lawyer and the human resources people who were aware,” Ms. Rizqy asked the National Assembly on Thursday.

Minister Bernard Drainville has indicated that no one else will be suspended at this time.

“If there are people who need to be punished, I assure you they will be,” he replied.
