Tribute to Stormy Daniels | The Press

It’s a moment we’ve been waiting for so long that, quite frankly, we can’t help but be a little disappointed. It could have been more serious. Less vulgar, anyway.

It could have been the ultra-confidential documents stashed at Mar-a-Lago, for example. The big lie, about stolen elections. Or the incitement to the deadly riots in the Capitol.

But no. Of all the allegations against Donald Trump, it is the Stormy Daniels case that could soon lead the police to handcuff him.

For the first time in the history of the United States, a former president could have to give his fingerprints and have his portrait drawn, from the front and in profile, in order to establish his legal identity.

It’s not done yet. In Manhattan, a grand jury is still deliberating on whether or not to indict Donald Trump. His decision is expected any day.

We think it would be better than nothing. Anything goes to get this corrupt and dangerous politician out of circulation. Even a vulgar payment intended to buy the silence of a porn actress.

But come to think of it, it wouldn’t be better than nothing.

That would be just…perfect.

Stormy Daniels is not just a porn actress. It would be wrong to reduce her to the role of blonde nanny with silicone breasts. She is a seasoned businesswoman. A director. An author. A mother.

A free woman. Without remorse and without complex.

I’m not telling you that Stormy Daniels is a modern-day heroine, but… a little, nonetheless.

Normally, she should have taken her hole and swallowed her shame. This, and nothing more, is expected of women involved in sex scandals with rich and powerful men.

Stormy Daniels should have shut up, like Monica Lewinsky, humiliated in front of the world, at 22, for having had an affair with Bill Clinton at the end of the last century.

It took ten long years for the former White House intern to break his painful silence. Today, Monica Lewinsky campaigns against bullying and lectures on the best ways to survive public humiliation.

Stormy Daniels refuses the shame.

“President Trump wouldn’t touch you with a pole 10 feet,” an angry surfer recently wrote on the actress’ Twitter account.

” TRUE. He used a three-inch one,” she replied with her usual sarcasm.

You must know that pole, in English, can also mean… well, you get the idea.

She’s like that, Stormy Daniels. Slinger. Sly. With a lot of self-mockery, she confronts her critics online. She attacks the disproportionate ego of Trump, whom she nicknames Tiny. Tiny. One tweet at a time, she deflates the image of a virile man that the ex-president is trying to project.

One can only imagine the avalanche of hate this woman must receive, day after day. She faces millions of supporters convinced that Trump can do no wrong. To the mighty MAGA machine. And to the scathing commenters at Fake, sorry, Fox News.

Above all, she faces Donald Trump, who does not hesitate to channel these torrents of hatred to project them against those who dare to get in his way.

We saw what happened in Washington on January 6, 2021.

Despite the danger, the threats, the insults, Stormy Daniels refuses to be silenced.

It’s called having courage.

Obviously, the 44-year-old actress is no saint. Far from it. She’s not doing all this to save American democracy.

She works for herself first. His book which “reveals everything” is a bestseller. She monetizes her interviews. She sells calendars, photos, trinkets. His Twitter account explodes. His OnlyFans account, too…

But Stormy Daniels is not the only one to benefit from the scandal: Donald Trump benefits greatly, too. In three days, the ex-president amassed 1.5 million US from his followers by shaking the threat of an imminent indictment.

Imagine if the police did handcuff him. Money will fall from the sky. More than ever, his supporters will cry out for political persecution.

Besides, it is very likely that no one would like to see this scenario materialize as much as… Donald Trump himself!

If he plays the “witch hunt” card well enough, an indictment in this case, far from harming him, could give him the boost needed to win back the White House in 2024.

If indicted, Manhattan Democratic District Attorney Alvin Bragg will have to prove that the payment of US$130,000 to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election constituted an illegal campaign contribution.

It is far from won. Even that the prosecutor’s case is far too weak, critics say. It risks undermining other more solid files to come.

It could have been more serious, then.

Still, just imagine that it works. Imagine that in the end, it is a woman who causes the downfall of Mr. “grab ’em by the pussy”this deeply misogynistic president who was able to get away with it despite a slew of accusations of sexual misconduct, this Teflon president who was able to get away with it despite all the scandals, all the time, without the slightest scratch.

This would be called karma.
