Tribute to singer Lhasa de Sela | New dates for Danse Lhasa danse

To those who missed it and those who want to see it again: the show Dance Lhasa dance will hit the road again next September, with stops already planned in Montreal, Laval, Quebec, Sherbrooke and Shawinigan.

Dance Lhasa dance pays tribute to the singer Lhasa de Sela, who died of cancer in 2010. The show – which fuses dance and music – was created the following year by the founder of PPS Danse, Pierre-Paul Savoie.

The latter having died in 2021, the artistic director of PPS Danse, David Rancourt, is directing the new version of the show. Choreographies will be reworked, others transformed. Artists from the original cast are returning, including singers Bia, Geneviève Toupin and Karen Young.

“This revival honors the vision, the work, and the path of two great artists –– Lhasa de Sela and Pierre-Paul Savoie – while rooting the show in the present,” declared David Rancourt in a press release.

PPS Danse announced tour dates on Thursday: September 21 in Sainte-Geneviève, October 5 in Sherbrooke, October 12 in Montreal, December 4 in Laval, January 26 in Quebec and April 5 in Shawinigan. Other performances will be announced soon.
