Triathlon | Emy Legault and Mathis Beaulieu narrowly miss the top 10 in Valencia

Four Quebec triathletes distinguished themselves Saturday at the World Cup in Valencia, Spain. Emy Legault and Mathis Beaulieu both came close to top 10 crossing the finish line in 11e position.

Legault who finished 14the in Karlovy Vary, Czechia, last week, got her day off to a good start as she emerged from the water among the top 10 swimmers.

“I had one of my best swims ever. It went really well. Unfortunately, I missed the breakaway by a really small margin so I’m a little disappointed that my really good swim was summed up by everyone coming back together,” mentioned the 35th-place finisher.e at the Paris Olympic Games.

After the 750-meter swim, she put in extra effort during the bike portion (20 kilometers) and the run (5 kilometers) to finish with a time of 56 min 25 s.

It was really dangerous on the bike, so I tried to stay safe as best I could. Then I raced really well and I was really happy. I fought until the end. I’m really happy to end my season on a good note.
