The judge nevertheless answered technical questions from the members of the jury on the “decision tree”, a guide to lead the jury through a series of decisions, before extending their deliberation session. A verdict could be rendered in the coming days.

Ex-franchisee of Chez Cora, Paul Zaidan, 52, is accused of having kidnapped and kidnapped the president of the chain, Nicholas Tsouflidis, then demanded a ransom of 11 million dollars from his mother, Cora Tsouflidou. His jury trial has been going on since last November at the Laval courthouse, and is attracting a lot of attention.

Note that the Crown prosecutor, Ms.and Karine Dalphond, argued earlier last week that the defendant’s cell phone positions and shopping receipts proved his guilt in the case.

Mand Dalphond recalled that the cell phone of the accused had been geolocated near the residence of Nicholas Tsouflidis, not far from the house where the victim was allegedly sequestered and at several other places linked to the events, at key moments in history .

She also referred to invoices showing that Paul Zaidan purchased a tablet, on which an email address used by the kidnappers was created. Mr. Zaidan also purchased a security camera, chains, padlocks, tie wraps (tie wraps) and cable, items that were used to confine the victim.
