At the end of her trial, Monique Olivier was sentenced, Tuesday, December 19, to the maximum sentence for complicity in the kidnapping and death of three young girls, including Estelle Mouzin. The families of the victims were waiting for more explanations from Michel Fourniret’s former partner.
The verdict in Monique Olivier’s trial fell on Tuesday, December 19. She was sentenced to life imprisonment with a 20-year security sentence, for complicity in the kidnapping and death of three young girls. For 16 days, Monique Olivier only provided a few additional details, notably on the kidnapping of Estelle Mouzin. Michel’s former partner Fourniret spoke to the girl, gave her a glass of water, but did not help her.
She remains indicted in another disappearance
For her last words, Monique Olivier asked for forgiveness from the families of the victims, knowing, she said, that it is unforgivable. The families were waiting for more explanations, in particular on the place where they were buried Marie-Angèle Domece and Estelle Mouzin. Monique Olivier claimed throughout the trial that she did not remember it. The trial also revealed the slowness and errors of the investigation into Estelle Mouzin. The family filed a lawsuit against the state. Monique Olivier remains indicted in another disappearance.
