This is what emerges from the testimony of civilians and expert reports heard and filed Friday at the jury trial of Dominico Scarfo, which opened Tuesday at the Gouin Judicial Services Center in Montreal.
Scarfo, 49, is accused of plotting the murders and killing two lieutenants of the Montreal Mafia’s Sicilian clan, Lorenzo Giordano and Rocco Sollecito, in 2016.
After hearing part of the evidence relating to the murder of Giordano, the 14 women and men who make up the jury began Friday to hear that relating to the assassination of Rocco Sollecito, 67.

Around 8:30 a.m., one of them was busy repairing a waste chute halfway up a ten-storey condo tower located near Saint-Elzéar Boulevard when his gaze was caught. by the luxurious white BMW SUV driven by Sollecito.
“The BMW stopped at the stop sign. There’s a bus shelter and someone came out dressed as follows motorcycle, he approached the passenger side, he raised his arm and we heard bang, bang bang. He left to run, crossed a small wooded area and behind, another person was waiting for him on a motorcycle. They left together on the highway, ”he said.
The witness described the motorcycle as looking more like a ” racer or a sport bike” rather than a big “Harley”. He added that the man ran “with his helmet on his head” and that neither he nor the driver of the motorbike was wearing clothing that could “hit the eye”.
Another witness, who drove twice on boulevard Saint-Elzéar that morning, said he had noticed, before the crime, “a man aged 35 to 40, with a cap, short hair and eyes dark,” sitting in the bus shelter.
Finally, a third witness had just left the 4-40 market and was driving on rue du Marché when he first saw the motorcycle and its driver. “There was another running maybe 10-15 meters behind the bike. He was running with his helmet and his visor down. It seemed weird to me, ”said the delivery man.
A few seconds later, he said he arrived first at the intersection where the victim was lying in his SUV.
“I thought the gentleman had been unwell. I tried to talk to him through the glass and tried to open the door, but it was closed. I quickly realized that he was riddled with bullets. I tried to talk to him, but his eyes were rolling. I asked people around me to call the ambulance and left because there was nothing I could do anyway,” he continued.
A bullet in the heart
Nine projectiles, fired from the same weapon, were aimed at or towards Rocco Sollecito on the morning of May 27, 2016, according to a ballistics expert’s report filed in court.
According to the pathologist who performed the autopsy on the body, the victim was hit by seven to nine bullets in the right arm, right shoulder, right side of the chest and back. A projectile lacerated his heart and was fatal.
When he was killed, Rocco Sollecito had over $3,500 in his jeans pockets, including 33 $100 bills, and also wore a Chopard brand watch on his left wrist.
