The accused faces seven years of imprisonment
Myriam B. would have used Madeleine’s bank card Riffaud, who is blind, for personal expenses: restaurants, outings, jewelry or life insurance. This would have lasted for more than ten years. The total damage is estimated at 160,000 euros. The defense lawyer, Mr. Seydi Baclaims that these expenses all benefited Madeleine Riffaud, and that his client did not need the money. The accused faces seven years of imprisonment and a fine of 750,000 euros. Loved ones of Madeleine Riffaud claim that it is ruined. They launched a fundraiser to help him pay the expenses necessary to keep him at home.
