Traveling to Beijing, Vladimir Putin maintains his proximity with Chinese President Xi Jinping

A handshake, a sign of real closeness. Between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, international relations are developing and cooperation is gaining importance. “Russian-Chinese relations have developed dynamically and reached an unprecedented level. They are based on a solid foundation of good neighborliness, equality, mutual respect and support”declared Vladimir Putin, traveling to Beijing (China).

Both countries each find their interest in these exchanges. Beijing sells cars and electronic components to the Russians, while Moscow (Russia) sells its gas and oil to China, because it cannot sell it to Europeans. This development would be “also conducive to peace, stability and prosperity of this region and the world”, assures XI Jinping, the Chinese president. The two leaders have known each other for eleven years. Shortly after his inauguration in 2013, Xi Jinping reserved his first trip to Vladimir Putin. Since then, the meetings have multiplied. Xi Jinping has never denounced the war in Ukraine led by his counterpart.
