The information was provided by the chained Duck then relayed by the opposition on social networks: Anne Hidalgo is traveling to the Pacific islands for several weeks. First for professional reasons then for vacation. Among the stated objectives, the inspection of the beach where the Olympic surfing events of the Paris 2024 Games will take place. Duration of the trip: from October 16 to November 6. A trip which arouses strong criticism within the Parisian opposition.

Embarrassment within the municipal majority

“She has three years left in her mandate and it looks like she’s starting retirement cruisesquips Geoffroy Boulard, Les Républicains mayor of the 17th arrondissement of Paris. The expertise of the mayor of Paris for surfing beaches still remains to be demonstrated. She gives us guilty lessons with each advice [municipal]. It’s: do as I say, not as I do.”

An observation shared half-heartedly by the elected environmentalist on the Paris council Emile Meunier. The person in charge of ecological transition at the town hall, Dan Lert, indicates that he has no comments to make. No more response from the other Europe Ecologie-Les Verts deputies. “There is no need for a political reaction,” also affirms a communicator of Anne Hidalgo. The latter assures that he does not know the cost of traveling for the delegation of five people overseas. “She doesn’t care about the controversy at all”he adds.
