Transport strike in Brest: strong disruptions announced

One month to the day after the strike of October 15, mobilization resumes at Bibus, the public transport company in Brest. This time we wait up to 96% of strikers, or almost all of the company’s employees. The CFDT, the majority union, denounces the delays observed on the majority of bus lines, the working conditions, and the equipment deemed dilapidated and insufficient.

Removal of the most used lines

Like 1 month ago, the tram is completely at a stop, as well as bus lines one to six downtown. For the other lines, the disturbances vary, from slight to very disturbed. For line 16, for example, only 2 out of 5 buses are in circulation.

But an almost normal service is provided for bus lines 15, 17 and 18. Ditto for the 20 to 25 serving Plouzané, Plougastel and Gouesnou which will not be affected by the strike.

No disturbances either for the cable car or the “market” shuttles. However, the public transport service for people with reduced mobility is not provided.

Very disrupted school bus service

Back to the organizational puzzle for school buses this Monday: about ten lines are completely cut (lines 40 to 46, 51, 52, 56 and 65); the others strongly disturbed. Alone a third of the coaches should run normally (lines 55, 61, 67, 68, 69, 72, 75, 77 and 78).

Finally, the Bibus boutique is closed all day. Details of the disruptions can be found on the Bibus website or the mobile application.
