Transfers: Bastien Pourailly will leave ASM and join Aviron Bayonnais

The native of 64 will return to 64, after a parenthesis of two seasons in 63. Arrived from Pau in the spring of 2019, Bastien Pourailly will not join his native Béarn (he was born in Aramits), but he will grow until edge of the Atlantic. Aviron Bayonnais formalized its recruitment on Wednesday (not ASM Clermont).

We can also read an interview with the three-quarter wing of Clermont. “Rowing, it’s a club that has made me dream since I was very young, especially by the atmosphere created by the supporters”, Bastien Pourailly said on the Basque club website.

Manage my choices

Bastien Pourailly, who will celebrate his 28th birthday in two days, has been established three times this season in the league. With a try against the Section Paloise, his previous club. He played nine games last season.

The duration of the contract was not communicated by Aviron Bayonnais. The Basques, who are struggling to regain the Top 14 as quickly as possible, want to be ambitious and anticipate a possible return to the elite of French rugby.

Waiting for Lopez?

Bastien Pourailly should not be the only ASM player to join the Bayonne club. Clermont having recruited Toulonnais Anthony Belleau and Rochelais Jules Plisson as opener, this double recruitment allows the Auvergne club to release Camille Lopez from his last year of contract.

A time foreseen in the neighbor Biarritz, the native of Oloron-Sainte-Marie should finally commit to rowing. And join the international scrum half of Racing 92, Maxime Machenaud, to form a high-level experienced hinge.
