Trains canceled between Paris and Normandy from this Monday, November 29

Train traffic between Caen and Paris will be greatly modified from Monday, November 29, due to works around Saint-Lazare station in Paris. Until Friday noon, several trains will be canceled while additional stops will be operated between Caen and Paris.

This work has a direct impact on the movement of trains at the departure and arrival at Saint-Lazare station, and this until Friday because the transformation of the Batignolles district in Paris has resulted for 10 years now, the displacement and the reconstruction of several railway infrastructures adjoining the site.

Added to that, the modernization of the maintenance facilities of the technicentre of Clichy and you end up with many projects which must be carried out the week to come. The creation of a track for the storage of power units at the technical center, the installation of a computerized service track management station or even the installation of overhead lines. All of this has a direct impact on train traffic to Normandy.

Until Friday noon, several trains will be canceled while additional stops will be operated between Caen and Paris.

But for once the Channel is not the most impacted in effect, all direct trains are maintained by Friday with the exception of the 8:42 am train each morning. Its passengers will have to take a connection in Lisieux to complete their journey to the capital. A lesser evil whereas on the other more impacted Norman lines, the SNCF will compensate the trains canceled by longer trainsets on the maintained trains.
