In collaboration with the Canadian Football League, nine quarterbacks from the U SPORTS circuit will hone their skills at CFL training camps as part of the 2022 edition of the Canadian Quarterback Internship Program. Sénécal had the best campaign in the history of the Carabins program for a rookie quarterback, in 2021.

He averaged 255 yards through the air and threw nine touchdown passes in just six regular season games. In addition, Sénécal led his team to a first Dunsmore Cup victory in front of his supporters at CEPSUM.

“I know Jonathan well and we’ve been hearing about him for several years because of his success,” said Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia. This camp will be a good school for him, he will be able to learn from the best, while showing his know-how. »

The program, which welcomed its first cohort of participants in 2010, allows Canada’s top young quarterbacks to hone their skills and attend team and position meetings alongside professional players. The program is back for the first time since 2019, with the 2020 and 2021 editions canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Alouettes’ training camp will take place at the Diablos stadium at Cégep de Trois-Rivières from May 15 to June 2.
