The presumed perpetrator of the shot is another young woman, a 17-year-old hunter, who was participating in a wild boar hunt. The victim was with his companion when the bullet hit him in the upper body according to our colleagues from France Bleu Pays d’Auvergne.

Since the announcement of this tragedy, many personalities and members of the government have taken the floor to denounce the numerous accidents linked to hunting and what this activity could entail. The Secretary of State for Biodiversity, Bérengère Abba, for example, took to her Twitter account to discuss this new accident. “Today in #Cassaniouze (15) a young hiker died hit by the accidental shooting of a hunter. Unbearable and unacceptable drama. The investigation is underway, decisions will follow, so that never again. To his family and his loved ones, my most sincere condolences”she wrote very uplifted.

The president of the National Federation of Hunters, for his part, agreed with the opinion of the Secretary of State for Biodiversity by sending his condolences to the family of the victim: “To the family of this young woman and to those close to her our most sincere condolences. We must take the measure of the tragedy. Without waiting for the results of the investigation, I want to tell you that nothing can justify, even accidentally, the death of a person.
