Singer Nick Cave has lost another son. Jethro Lazenby has died at the age of 31, the artist confirmed in a brief statement released on Monday.

“We want to grieve in private,” said the Australian rocker.
The cause of death was not specified. Jethro Lazenby, a model and actor, grew up in Australia. It wasn’t until he was 8 years old that he learned that Nick Cave was his father.
Last April, Lazenby was found guilty of assaulting his mother, a violent act carried out in early March. He had regained his freedom on Friday, reports the BBC. His lawyer said he suffered from schizophrenia. Lazenby previously spent time in jail in 2018, after physically attacking his then-lover.
For Nick Cave, this is the second family tragedy in a few years. In 2015, frontman Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds lost his 15-year-old son Arthur to his death after falling off a cliff in Brighton, UK. His death, deemed accidental, had tinted the famous musician’s 2016 album, Skeleton Tree.
