If the SNCF unions have lifted their strike notice, traffic remains disrupted on the afternoon of Friday, December 17, on the entire South-East axis of the network. Only one in two trains is able to run.

At the Gare de Lyon, located in the twelfth arrondissement of Paris, travelers see their departure on vacation jeopardized by disrupted traffic. “I took a train going to Lyon, but as I have to go as far as Ardèche, I looked at the TER from Lyon, and it was full”, testifies one of the travelers, who will have to finish her journey by carpooling. The lifting of the strike notice on the evening of December 16 does not change the traffic disruptions. Only one in two TGVs will be able to circulate. In total, around 50,000 people will be deprived of their route.

At Marseille-Saint-Charles station (Bouches-du-Rhône), some travelers were lucky enough to see their train maintained. For the others who had to be reimbursed for their ticket and take a new one, it’s a cold shower. “We had to repay one that we paid at least three times. Namely 180 euros for a trip that initially costs thirty or forty euros”, testifies a traveler. Those who could not find a train had to turn to the bus companies. Traffic will return to normal on December 18 and 19.
