The association 60 million consumers has calculated the impact of rising prices on household budgets. She figures this additional cost at 90 euros per month, on average. This is therefore what each French person could pay in addition. This represents 1,080 euros per year and which forces many French people to make arbitrations in spending.
At the exit of the supermarket near Poitiers (Vienna)there are fewer products in consumers’ shopping carts, due to rising prices. “Coffee, chocolate… I watched, I declined. We go to the essential“says a client. “We buy less things, less meat… The oil has already increased. But hey we do with“says another. For the races of a family of four, the budget has increased by 38 euros due to inflation. To reduce the bill, some are looking for the best prices.
With the 5.2% inflation in May, that’s 90 euros less per month in purchasing power for each household. Among the biggest increases is fuel, with + 27 euros per month. “We do fewer trips, we do fewer extras“, says a man. “We try to optimize the routes but with the constraints it is not always easy“says another woman. According to’association 60 million consumers, nearly one in two French people would have already reduced its fuel consumption.
