Traces of drugs were found in the restrooms of the Palace of Westminster. Maelys September, live from London for France 3, explains Tuesday, December 7 how this new scandal is shaking Parliament.
Traces of cocaine in Westminster grounds, home to the British Parliament, in London. A new scandal for Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, who has been facing a crisis for several months. “According to the Sunday Times traces of cocaine were found in eleven of the twelve toilets of the Parliament (…), including near the offices of Boris Johnson”, tells the journalist Maelys September, live from London for France 3 Tuesday December 7th. The Speaker of the House of Commons announced that he had seized the police.
The affair had a strong impact, so that several avenues are being studied to fight against the presence of drugs in Parliament. “Today, 19,000 people have a pass that allows them to avoid systematic searches at the entrance to Westminster”, recalls the journalist. A few days ago, a first scandal caused a stir concerning a big Christmas party between members of the government which would have taken place in December 2020, even as Boris Johnson urged citizens to avoid gatherings.
