For a centenarian, it was decidedly difficult to make more attractive. This edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which begins on Saturday June 9 at 4 p.m., presents a line-up that would make more than one motorsport fan salivate. On the one hand, the Toyota team, ultra dominating and winner of the last five editions, on the other, Ferrari, absent for 50 years from the Sarthe circuit, and author of the pole position on Thursday. Without forgetting either, the Porsches (19 times winners), leaders of a competition which counts in its ranks Cadillac or Peugeot.

If pole position is not a guarantee of victory in endurance, it does show that the Italian firm came with ambitions to Le Mans. Another important information, thunderstorms could disrupt the race, which would necessarily require adjustments in the paddock. On the people side, the start of this historic edition will be given by basketball player LeBron James, quadruple NBA champion and quadruple MVP of the league, while nearly 300,000 spectators are expected during the weekend.
