A drawing of Tintin from 1942, in black and white, is auctioned on Friday February 10.
It’s a design that will thrill the auction room on Friday evening February 10. An original work by Hergé, made in Indian ink in 1942 for the cover of the album “Tintin in America”. “We have a very impressive and extremely effective design. It’s all in the line, which we call the clear line”says Vinciane de Traux, director of the Artcurial auction house in Belgium.
The drawing is estimated between 2.2 and 3.2 million euros
For the amateurs present in the showroom, it is a dive into childhood. “I have known Tintin since the age of seven and it is a cover that really marked me”says a man. “It’s still rare to see beautiful pieces like this. We take the opportunity to see them. Even if anyway at the starting price, I don’t think I can afford it, by far”, specifies a second. The drawing is estimated between 2.2 and 3.2 million euros. The auction will open at 7 p.m.
