While Tuesday, June 6, only 600,000 people are expected in the streets of France for the 14th day of mobilization against the pension reform, transport services should not be very affected.
Putting pressure two days before the examination in Parliament of the bill tabled by the Liot group is the whole point of the demonstration on June 6. “I solemnly call on Yaël Braun-Pivet to let the deputies vote so that parliamentarians can finally give their opinion on this reform. (…) The pressure is on the government to respect the rights of parliamentarians “declared the general secretary of the CGT, Sophie Binet.
A less strong mobilization than in March
On a market in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), opinions are divided. “For me, it’s classified”indicates a passer-by. “At the time of Chirac, a law had been passed and he went back”, says another. 250 processions are planned for Tuesday and up to 600,000 people throughout France. A figure twice as large as the record demonstration of March 7, which had mobilized more than 1.2 million people.
In transport, a third of flights are canceled at Orly (Val-de-Marne). On the rails, traffic should be fluid with nine out of ten trains nationally. The RATP does not announce any disruption.
