Companies will have to pass their windfall profits on to their employees. How will the law work if passed? Explanations on the 19/20 set with journalist Alexandre Peyrout.
First of all, only companies with more than 50 employees are concerned. “If it makes so-called exceptional profits, in this case, it will have to pay back at least part of it: either by increasing the profit-sharing or participation, or by creating a new bonus”explains, Wednesday, May 24, the journalist Alexandre Peyrout, on the set of 19/20.
The left wants to impose a threshold
The government provides for negotiations in each company to define what an exceptional profit is, namely from what profit threshold it will have to pay the bonus. “Do not constrain, leave flexibility, so that a young growth in development is not treated like a large multinational which necessarily has more cash available”, says the journalist. The left, for its part, wants to impose a threshold. “Companies whose profits are 20% higher than the average profit of the previous four years would be affected”concludes Alexandre Peyrout.
