towards a rejection of Jean-Luc Rigaut’s appeal?

Will the appeal for annulment of the municipal election in Annecy be definitively rejected? According to the entourage of François Astorg, the environmentalist mayor, the public rapporteur, who delivered his conclusions on Tuesday on this file, would indeed be preparing to request the rejection of the appeal which had been filed by the former mayor of Annecy, the centrist Jean-Luc Rigaut, beaten in June 2020.

Hearing Thursday before the Council of State

Last February, the appeal was rejected by the administrative court of Grenoble, but the former mayor had seized the Council of State. The hearing must take place this Thursday, December 2 at 9:30 a.m., before the highest French administrative court. The decision of the Council of State, which must take note of the conclusions of the public rapporteur, should be known by mid-December.

In June 2020, during the second round of municipal elections, Jean Luc Rigaut was beaten by 27 votes by the ecologist François Astorg. For the outgoing mayor, his short defeat would have been caused by the forgetting of several dozen of proxies and the very strong abstention due to the pandemic. He also accuses his opponents of having used illegal means during the election campaign. Arguments already swept away by the administrative court.
