A few months before the presidential elections, the left seems more divided than ever. Fromis a few days, Christiane’s name Taubira, the former Minister of Justice of François Hollande, resurfaces. Catherine Demangeat, political journalist at France Télévisions, is on the 11 p.m. to explain the situation on the left.
While a survey was carried out among supporters of the left, 73% of them say they are in favor of holding a primary. A possible primary to which Christiane Taubira might show up. The former Keeper of the Seals would reflect on this possibility. 41% of left sympathizers consider than the latter at the right stuff to take on the presidential office. The leader of France Insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leads this poll with 45% respondents favorable. Anne Hidalgo and Yannick Jadot are, respectively, third and fourth with 33 and 28% from votes.
On the whole of the French, the order remains unchanged, but the figures are less glorious. Indeed, only 22% of those polled consider Jean-Luc Mélenchon as having the makings of a president and 18% are favorable to Christiane Taubira. In voting potential in the next presidential election, Jean-Luc Mélenchon once again leads. According to same poll, he could harvest 21% votes in the event of a joint candidacy of the left. Catherine Demangeat explains that with so many candidates on the left, a presidential failure seems inevitable.
