A week after Tadej Pogacar’s demonstration on the Tour of Flanders, the season of cobbled classics is coming to an end. And what better than the “queen of the classics” to end it? If the Slovenian is not engaged in the Hell of the North, Sunday April 9, the 120th edition of Paris-Roubaix will be a new opportunity to attend the duel which will have punctuated this first part of the season between Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin -Deceuninck) and Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma).
The two heavyweights will advance as the big favourites, on an ever-demanding 257-kilometre route between Compiègne and Roubaix, obviously marked by 29 cobbled sections (54.5 km). In addition to the legendary portions that are the Trouée d’Arenberg or the Carrefour de l’Arbre, the peloton will find the Haspres sector, a first since 2004 on the Northern Monument. The start will be given at 11.25 am from Compiègne. A race to follow in full on France 3 and france.tv.
