Three weeks after announcing that he wanted to tackle tax evaders, Gabriel Attal now wants to tackle social fraudsters. Among the key measures, he wants to merge the vital card and the identity card to fight against “medical tourism”.

However, itsome are skeptical about the method’s effectiveness in combating fraud. “We already manage to copy identity cards, or even steal them. So security level, it will not have a big impact”explains a shorerain. There remains the question of the feasibility of merging the cards, while the deadlines for redoing one’s identity papers have exploded.
