At the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum or on the Bateaux Mouches, the crowds of the great days have been investing in Paris again for a few weeks. After two years of health crisis, tourism professionals are smiling again.
On the morning of Tuesday April 12, many tourists immortalized themselves in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. “This is our first trip, outside of England, since the Covid”, enthuses a woman. At the start of spring, tourists are back, and Ile-de-France professionals are optimistic. Two-thirds of them believe that their activity is up compared to 2021.
In the hotel Les Jardins du Faubourg (Paris), 31 rooms are occupied out of 36. “Americans, we feel that there is a lot more demand. But what is very different compared to last year or the year before, it is really last minute”, says Jennifer Boccara, hotel manager. The uncertainties, linked to Covid-19 or the war in Ukraine, therefore persist. There are still positive signs, such as the recovery of business tourism. The salons are indeed back, to the delight of cafe owners and restaurateurs.
