Touraine bikers in solidarity with the homeless and the most precarious

Touraine bikers united for the homeless and the most precarious. This Thursday afternoon, the NGO United Riders organized a clothing collection and distribution, shoes and hygiene products, Boulevard Heurteloup in Tours. Such a convivial moment after a motorbike run, around hot drinks and music.

Donations offered to Touraineers in need

“I find the principle super nice. It allows you to ride a motorcycle a bit with people you don’t necessarily know, and at the same time, to do a good deed”, smiles Angelina. Like her, 140 Touraine bikers have come, each bringing a few donations which they deposit one by one.

Also offer a warm and friendly moment

She hasn’t bought anything in stores for 20 years. “I came to look for sweaters, especially for my husband who had an operation of the heart and who is cold. Especially with the temperatures of the moment, we have very little heating, when I wake up, I have 13 degrees in the room. House”.

We don’t leave anyone by the wayside – Patrick Robine, United Riders 37

More than clothes, these Tourainees come to look for a little human warmth. Hairdressers, barbers and artists are also present. “It’s making a gesture with the other. When you distribute even a toothbrush or toothpaste, you reach out at the same time and take the time to discuss”, indicates Patrick Robine, departmental manager of United Riders in Indre-et-Loire. “It’s a biker first, biker spirit. We don’t leave anyone on the side of the road.”
