As for the Quebecers, it was mission accomplished for Hugo Houle and Guillaume Boivin of the Israel – Premier Tech team who allowed their leader Jakob Fuglsang to finish among the leading group. The Dane finished 59e and made a jump of 25 ranks in the provisional general classification to find himself in 37e step (+1 minute 2 seconds).

“The stage was very quiet with a light headwind all day, except at the end. Jakob entered the leading group, we are very happy. It was really the main objective of the day”, commented Hugo Houle, 104e of the day (+39 seconds).

Slowed down by a fall about 10 kilometers from the finish, Guillaume Boivin (123e) finished the day in the same group as his compatriot.

For his part, Antoine Duchesne (Groupama-FDJ) took 152e rank of the day (+2 minutes 35 seconds). The Saguenean is delighted with the work his entire team has done for Frenchman David Gaudu (46e) and the Swiss Stefan Küng (60e).

“The day went very well. Nothing major to report. We stayed out of all danger in the last 50 kilometres. David and Stefan were excellent at avoiding falls,” remarked Duchesne.

The cyclists will arrive in France on Sunday evening and enjoy a day off on Monday before starting the fourth stage of the Tour in Dunkirk on Tuesday.
