This 8th and last stage of the Tour de France women 2022 between Lure and the super Planche-des-Belles-Filles, 123 kilometers long, promises to be legendary. After the 7th stage between Sélestat and the Markstein, the day before, it will be necessary to cross several passes, including the Ballon d’Alsace, before tackling this Super Planches-des-Belles-Filles which has since its first commissioning, acquired letters of nobility. The finish changed with a 24% climb to finish the last part of the course.

The stage profile
For this first edition of the women’s Tour de France, ASO has chosen a last stage which will start from Lure, with an altitude finish at the top of the mythical super Planche-des-Belles-Filles. A finish that promises to be spectacular since the last 7 kilometers will see a series of climbs of more than 10% at the foot of the pass in Plancher-les-Mines, up to 20 then 24% at the finish.
Before this arrival at altitude, the runners will have to overcome several difficulties and passes whose reputation is second to none. First the Esmoullères rating and its rise to 8.5%, but also the Ballon d’Alsace and its 1,173 meters. For the runners it’s a 6.9% pass over a period of 8.9km. After 123 kilometers, the runners are expected at the top of the super Planche-des-Belles-Filles.
For Marion Rousse, “it’s a last step in the form of an apotheosis” which will conclude this Women’s Tour de France 2022. This demanding course has also been the scene of many twists and turns in previous editions of the Tour de Franceon the side of their male counterparts.
