Tuesday July 12, the Tour de France is back on the road after a day of rest. The journalist Grégory Naboulet is in duplex of the starting city of the stage of the day: Morzine in Haute-Savoie. He returns to the cases of Covid-19 detected in certain runners.

The Tour de France hits the road again on Tuesday July 12. At the end of the rest day, two runners contracted Covid-19. “The first is Luke Durbridge who was tested yesterday. He felt positive symptoms for Covid. The second is George Bennett, the New Zealander, who is part of the UAE Emirates team and therefore teammate of the yellow jersey Tadej Pogacar. He is already the second Pogacar team-mate to leave the Tour because of the Covid”says the journalist.

Two new cases have therefore been detected, but they are not the only ones since the start of the Tour since five riders have already left the Grande Boucle because of the epidemic. Today’s stage should give pride of place to climbers since the route is hilly and categorized as mid-mountain. The runners will go from Morzine (Haute-Savoie) to Megève (Haute-Savoie).
