The pink city sees red, this Sunday evening. During this first round of the presidential election, the people of Toulouse largely voted for Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The candidate of France Insoumise obtains almost 38% of the votes, according to the partial results published (91% of ballots counted at midnight). He is ahead of Emmanuel Macron, credited with 26%.
But in some neighborhoods, the Mélenchon vote is soaring: it thus exceeds the 55% in some Mirail polling stations.
The mayor of Toulouse, he had supported Valérie Pécresse, from the Les Républicains party like him. On the whole of the city, it obtains only 3.8%.
