Toulouse violinist Manon Galy rewarded at the Victoires de la Musique Classique

Two cellists, a violinist, a lyrical revelation and a composer: the Victories of Classical Music 2022 rewarded many women during a ceremony marked by a new category, that of “revelation conductor”. Organized at the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix-en-Provence and presented by Stéphane Bern, the 29th edition paid tribute to Ukraine at war.

This year’s “instrumental soloist revelation” was attributed to the Ariège violinist Manon Galy, 26, who played with the renowned Renaud Capuçon the 3rd movement of Bach’s concerto for two violins. Manon Galy started playing the violin at the age of 7, before graduating from the conservatories of Toulouse and Paris. In 2021, she won first prize and five special prizes at the international chamber music competition in Lyon.
