After the escape of two dangerous patients in recent days, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) orders the inspection of the Gérard Marchant psychiatric hospital in Toulouse, reports France Bleu Occitanie on Tuesday January 25. Sunday evening, a man declared criminally irresponsible for the murder of two people had fled, four days after the escape of another patient nicknamed “the cannibal of Nouilhan”.

“The report of a second patient running away led the general management of ARS Occitanie to carry out an on-site inspection mission, to ensure the compliance of the care of these patients”, announces the Regional Health Agency in a press release. She specifies that she had already ordered “an administrative investigation and the transmission of a report”, after the escape of the “cannibal” Jérémy Rimbaud.

The latter, who suffers from a very acute form of schizophrenia, had attacked a Toulouse woman with a broomstick. He was arrested and again committed to Marchant Hospital. In November 2013, after five days of wandering, he killed a 90-year-old man in Nouilhan (Hautes-Pyrénées) with a stick, before eating his heart and tongue.
